This Fourth of July gives us a reason to have a mid-week celebration. No matter what way you want to celebrate, Austin is definitely the best place to commemorate Independence Day. Celebrate America’s freedom with the many events going on throughout the city:
Fireworks
The largest Austin Fourth of July celebration that we all know and love is the Austin Symphony July 4th Concert & Fireworks. This huge firework show over the city skyline along with a patriotic performance from the Austin Symphony is something all Austinites should experience. The concert is at Auditorium Shores and starts at 8:30 p.m. and the fireworks at 9:30 p.m., it’s free of course so get there early!
Beware of the road closures downtown as well.
You can also view the firework show from the best seat in town, Lady Bird Lake! The Rowing Dock is doing a July 4th Fireworks Paddle with Stand Up Paddle Boards, kayaks and canoes for rent. Tickets are still available here.
Alta’s Cafe is having a 4th of July Celebration with plenty of food and drinks, and most importantly the chance to reserve your perfect spot for watching the fireworks. Buy tickets in advance in here.
Events
Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic is an annual Austin favorite at Circuit of Americas. Willie and several other headliners will be performing at the Austin360 Amphitheater along with many other performance’s throughout the day at COTA. The doors open at 11am and tickets are still on sale!
Bikes, Fireworks and Warren Hood at the ABGB is an afternoon full of activities involving beer and pizza. There’s also a performance from Warren Hood and a group bike ride to go watch the fireworks.
The Blue Owl Brewery is having a Red, White and Blue Owl Indoor Picnic. Starting at noon you can enjoy beer, food and fun for an all day party.
Geraldine’s July 4th Celebration starts at 7:30 p.m. with live music and southern fried chicken at their perfect party spot.
Hops & Grain’s 4th of July Party starts at 12 p.m. and will have food, tunes and more. Your ticket includes a souvenir glass with three different refills.
TLC Austin is partnering with Suds Monkey Brewing for an Independence Day Pig Roast. There will also be beer, oysters and live music all starting at 3 p.m.
W Austin has Soundwave Weekender 4th of July Edition at the Wet Deck with DJ Serafin and Buck Rodgers starting at 12 pm. Tickets are available in advance here.
NLand Surf Park is hosting a Fourth of July Beach Bash with tubing and water activities for all-ages. Make sure to check out this incredible surf park if you haven’t already.
Black Sheep Lodge is hosting their annual 4th of July Corn Dog Eating Contest with a portion of the sales going to Austin Pets Alive!. Definitely don’t want to miss this!
You can also spend the fourth at Blue Starlite Drive-In Theatre to see 8:45pm a showing of “Independence Day” followed by an onscreen fireworks show. Show begins at 8:45 p.m.
No matter where you decide to spend your holiday, any Fourth of July spent in Austin is a good one!
