We had a great open house party last night to officially celebrate the opening of the new Zilker Media headquarters on Fitzhugh Road in South Austin and I wanted to share a “virtual tour” via this blog post for all of our friends and clients that weren’t able to make the trip.

When we started our search for office space we knew we wanted to plant our flag in a place that matched the energy and good vibes of our namesake and we quickly honed in on Fitzhugh Road as a target area.

It wasn’t long before a 4-acre plot of land came on the market right in the middle of our target area on Fitzhugh with a great country-style house, rainwater collection, an awesome garden, peach, apricot and plum trees and a gorgeous grove of Texas oak trees. We had to battle several other suitors for it but we landed the property early this year and have been retrofitting it to match the culture of our agency.

We’re a few hundred feet from Barton Creek, which winds toward Barton Springs in Zilker Park and our neighbors include some of Austin’s coolest destinations, from Jester King Brewery, Argus Cidery, Last Stand Brewing Company, Treaty Oak Distillery and many other watering holes, to fun spots like Prospect House, the Stunt Ranch and several other corporate headquarters, including our literal neighbors from Double Dave’s Pizza.

We’re proud to have an office we can call our own and our doors are open to clients, friends and neighbors who want a place to hang their hat, sit on the porch and either get some work done or be a part of the Zilker Media community.

To kick that off, last night’s open house had about 60 people and included great tacos from Food Works Catering, wine from Spicewood Vineyards, beer from Zilker Brewing (of course), a wiffle ball game, books from our clients and a toast from yours truly. That toast paid gratitude to our team, our clients, our friends and partners who have made this new Zilker Media home base possible.
